Jayne by nature is a warm, compassionate and caring lady. She is the person that after ten minutes of conversation you know that you can trust her with every fiber of your being. This is how she treats her patients, her co-workers and everyone she encounters. Jayne is a skilled nurse anesthetist and caring person who takes care of our pediatric patients on a regular basis. When kids come for surgery it is an incredibly scary experience for the child as well as the family. Every part of the experience is overwhelming and scary. In "true fashion" Jayne thought of an idea to put a smile on the patients' and families' faces. All on her own, she bought a variety of fun fabric and made surgical caps in her spare time for our pediatric patients. These hats come in every type of theme from Disney Princess to Star Wars. Each child gets to pick one to wear and then keep after surgery. This may not take away all concerns, but a little happy diversion and an act of kindness go a long way with the children, as well as their parents. This woman has a heart of gold and would be embarrassed to know that she is being nominated. To her, this "was no big deal."
