All of the Nurses and Patient Care Associates on the 3rd floor are excellent and have helped me a lot. Jennifer Dean is the best. I am a quadriplegic and have been a patient here since September 13th 2014. Every time Jennifer works I ask that she is my nurse because she is a special kind of nurse. I don't have to tell her what I need, she already knows, it's like she can read my mind. She positions me perfectly and makes sure I am fed and have plenty to drink because I cannot do these things for myself. I know that she is very busy and does not have time to do these things (when the PCA's are too busy) but that is the kind of nurse she is. When the pain in my neck and stomach becomes unbearable she gives me my pain medicine and rubs my head to soothe me. When she senses that I am depressed or having a bad day (being a quadriplegic, I have many bad days and am often depressed) she tells me funny stories about her life to make me laugh. On her days off if she is close by or when she has a meeting here in the hospital she always stops in my room to make sure I'm OK. I have been a patient in many hospitals and nursing homes and Jennifer is the first nurse that I feel I have a special connection with. Jennifer is an outstanding, excellent, special kind of nurse.
