Jennifer was the resource nurse on the night a 4 yr old gunshot victim came in. Jennifer thought quickly on her feet and remained calm under tremendous pressure. She jumped in to assist with the care of the child, but also took the time to comfort and console the grieving parents. She stayed in the room when many staff were "falling apart" and had to leave. She selflessly cleaned and prepared the patient so his parents could see him one last time.

When all was said and done, Jennifer rallied the troops who were in the room and made them take some time off the floor. She went with them to the break room and held her own version of a critical debriefing. She allowed them time to vent and talk about what occurred in the room, allowing them time to grieve themselves.

She is a strong, generous person, but even more an amazing ER nurse. She is well deserving of a DAISY Award!
