I was taken to UMMC. I arrived on a ventilator with little hope. The shock trauma unit saved my life. Jennifer will forever have a very special place in my heart. It took me 6 months to find her, but I was determined. How could I possibly thank this wonderful nurse, Jennifer, who saved my life and helped me to fight and get better?

She was so caring and there for me no matter how many times I needed suctioned out or slid down my bed. She made me feel safe and not afraid. She took the time to try and understand my needs without me being able to speak. It was as if she was an angel. She cared for and comforted me as if I were her child. My fight was so much easier with knowing she was there watching over me.

There are not enough words that I could write that could possibly describe why this woman should be honored. My miracle of how I am still here is a big part of Jennifer. My family wants to tell her the same. She is one in a million! I thank God he placed her with me. I will try to always keep her as a very special reason I am alive.
