My mom, B was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer this summer. Life became a whirlwind and was scary. She resided in a town 1.5 hours away from me. We knew Lincoln Land Hospice was the program we wanted to care for her and when the time came to move her closer to me we knew service could continue in my town. We met Jere in the town in which B resided. Upon Jere entering the house we felt that all was going to be OK. Jere presented professionally. She was kind, patient, empathetic, knowledgeable, competent, and always had a smile to brighten our day. We were lucky in the fact that she remained B's nurse once she moved to my town. That brought us comfort. I am an RN as well and I am thankful that Jere explained the process, medications/orders, etc.. to me. She was a great educator for B and me. Jere went above and beyond....calling me past closing time (she was not on call) to let me know that she had contacted the doctor for pain medication since B's primary doctor did not respond back. Thank you Jere for always listening to us and investigating what would be the next best mode of treatment. B's time was short...2.5 months...after the diagnosis. Jere, thank you for guiding us.
