Jessica Burke 2023, RN
I was overall very pleased with the care I received during my one-week stay at the Boulder Community Hospital recovering from a DFO/PAO. I want to recognize the absolute best nurse I had the pleasure to work with: Jess Burke.
Jess developed an intuitive sense that my body was not reacting to medications like their typical patients. She adapted my regimen to reflect my actual needs and under her care, I was able to improve tremendously. She also provided the perfect balance of empathy, humor, and challenged me when I needed this support the most. I had some particularly difficult days that she helped guide me through.
For example, during an especially scary STAT team crisis, I'm convinced she saved my life by figuring out what occurred and providing the treatment I needed desperately. I will never forget the care and compassion Jess provided to me on this busy unit and am so appreciative of her kindness and expertise. I hope to not need to return to the hospital, but if I do, my fingers are crossed that I'll be able to work with Jess again.
