Jessica is also excellent at the bedside. She is smart and compassionate, and patients recognize her frequently for being a wonderful nurse.
Jessica started at Mercy in 2015 as a CNA while attending nursing school. It was obvious from the start that she would be an excellent nurse and we wanted her to stay a member of our team. In her first year of nursing, she had several good catches that resulted in her winning the Rookie of the year award during nurses’ week. She quickly transitioned to a charge nurse and in 2019 became a preceptor. In 2020 she flipped between day and night shifts so she could help train new nurses on PCU. She then floated to ICU to cross-train and began working in the COVID corner.

Over the last year, she has spent more of her shifts in ICU than PCU and she has never complained. She comes to work with a positive attitude and is a good team player. The ICU staff enjoy her floating to work in the unit and would love to steal her from PCU.

Jessica is also excellent at the bedside. She is smart and compassionate, and patients recognize her frequently for being a wonderful nurse. She has excellent relationships with the providers, and she has been recognized by HMS for the care of their patients. Jessica has also been awarded the stroke star of the month for immediate recognition of a stroke on an inpatient that results in quick reactions and treatment. She makes a difference in her patients’ lives every day and we are lucky to have her working at Mercy.
