Jessica Kirk, RN-BSN, VN Theory Instructor

For the duration of this program, Mrs.Kirk has always been a positive, comforting, and respectful instructor. Mrs.Kirk always makes sure we clearly understand a concept and gives every opportunity to clarify a topic, even if it’s something she’s gone over 10 times, without complaining or making you feel silly for asking. She pushed us to think critically and encouraged us to think outside of the box regardless of how uncomfortable it would make us.

Aside from focusing on our studies she listened to our concerns and would talk through our struggles with us during this intensive nursing program. She maintained professionalism while being able to make sure we felt heard and reassured us that we could persevere and finish the program. Often times, we found comfort in our theory class because the environment she created was an environment in which we felt we could be confident enough to provide an answer, whether it was right or wrong, and she never made us feel incompetent. I think I can speak for most of us when I say she is an excellent instructor who genuinely cares for her students and their success.
