The physician was ready to call the code and Jess recognized an underlying rhythm. We continued efforts and the patient lived!
Jess is the kind of nurse we hope all RNs aspire to be. As a charge nurse, she is a true leader and trusted advisor to all of her peers, doctors, and management alike. I have seen so much growth in her this past year and am excited to see what the new year will have in store for her. This week, Jess was in charge when a code blue was called. Her efforts with the patient, the code team (including doctors), led to a positive outcome. The physician was ready to call the code and Jess recognized an underlying rhythm. We continued efforts and the patient lived!
Yesterday, we were surveyed by the Joint Commission for primary stroke center certification. Jess was very engaged and hit it out of the park! She took all of the education and knowledge she had and was able to answer all questions. She was calm, cool, and collected throughout the survey. Jess represented PCU, AVH, and our whole organization very well! I am so proud of the clinician she has become. We are lucky to have her on our unit.
