Upon delivery, our son was admitted into the NICU. It was a very scary and worrisome time for us as parents. With my wife recovering, I was the first to see and visit our son in the NICU. I walked in to see the nurse, Jessie, holding and caring for him as he was her own. I spent some time with him but was very comfortable giving him back to Jessie knowing and seeing how he was in good hands. As a parent, I do not think anyone can provide better or more attentive care to my child than I can, but after watching Jessie care for my son, I knew he was in very good hands. When my wife was able to visit, Jessie was very supportive and willing to do whatever she could to help get our son nursing and gaining weight. She shared and showed techniques to help the process. Through our son’s time in the NICU, we were able to get to know Jessie better. She related to my wife, being a mother herself, and shared her own experiences in getting the little ones going. We cannot put into words how thankful we are for Jessie, the support she gave us and the care she gave our son.
