Jesus Magno’s path to nursing was a combination of destiny and motherly advice bringing him to where he is today. His mother was recruited as a nurse from the Philippines to work at Woodhull Hospital in 1982. Remembering many days as a child waiting to pick up his mom in a car on the ER Ramp and frustrated that she could never quite come out on time. Jesus didn't consider nursing as a career until halfway through his first semester in college and was still ambivalent about his career path. Jesus began as an LPN and returned to school to complete his BSN. Working on the medical-surgical floor, he learned the basics of nursing that his mother always spoke about. Jesus has cared for patients during the COVID pandemic and continues to excel in his role.
