She brings to the unit, her team, and her patients a vast amount of knowledge and experience, strong critical thinking skills, and leadership.
Jill is a very experienced RN who has worked on the solid organ transplant unit since she started as a nurse over a decade ago. She brings to the unit, her team, and her patients a vast amount of knowledge and experience, strong critical thinking skills, and leadership. Jill will frequently assume charge and preceptor responsibilities when assigned. When in charge she will escalate issues appropriately and work with the correct leaders and departments to have issues resolved. Jill is admired for her caring, compassion and easy-going attitude, she tends to add joy and laughter to each shift. Jill is also seen by staff as someone who is respectful, approachable and a good teacher/mentor. Jill is focused on being a team player and will jump in to assist any patient, visitor or Jefferson employee when assistance is needed. Just this week Jill noticed that a patient’s wife was disabled- Jill spent extra time focusing on the wife to ensure that she was ok. When the patient’s wife went to leave the hospital for the day, Jill noticed that the wife was unable to walk far distances. After this observation, Jill was able to secure a wheelchair and push the wife down two city blocks to ensure she was able to get to her car safely. Jill then instructed the patient on where to park when she came again (in valet) to ensure that the wife would be able to safely visit her husband. Additionally, Jill escalated these concerns, and the care team was made aware. The wife was identified as the patient’s caregiver, but with her current disability, it was identified she would be unable to fulfill all of the required duties solely. With this new information, the care team was able to reach out to the family to come up with a safe and effective caregiver plan to improve care transitions and patient safety. This is just one instance of Jill going above and beyond for her patients and their loved ones. Jill is an amazing nurse and an asset to our team and the Jefferson community.
