Joana Joseph is compassionate, knowledgeable and approachable. She has been a mentor as well as a preceptor for new staff, students and volunteers. She has a welcoming demeanor that makes her approachable. If she doesn't know an answer she asks those around her. She is the preceptor everyone wants.
There have been so many times that I have seen Joana reach out to providers, departments and other services to ensure her patients' needs are met. One example was when a patient has a serious issue and was not able to speak to the provider on their own. Joana took the concerns to unit leadership, then followed up with the provider and together they were able to change the course of care. Her advocacy and diplomacy made this a great save.
She is very methodical and well organized. She plans care and works with her care partners. She loves to learn and is always looking for new information, approaches, and knowledge.
