I wanted to make you aware of an extreme act of kindness demonstrated by Joetta, my mom's nurse on 4S.
After suffering a devastating stroke over a week ago, our beautiful mom struggled with fidgeting. She has always been active and constantly moving so you can imagine her agitation over not being able to do the things she used to. Nurse Joetta recognized Mom's need to "feel" out different textures and brought her a beautiful activity blanket. Mom immediately felt it all over and settled on rolling the little pom poms between her fingers. The colors grab her attention and she seems to enjoy working her hands to practice with a zipper, snaps and especially tucking a little stuffed animal in a pocket.
My brother and I are so very grateful to Joetta for recognizing subtle cues and treating mom like she would her own mom.
