John Franklin made our son, R, feel safe and protected while receiving chemotherapy, various tests and treatments during his inpatient visits to St. Jude. Even the scary parts! He went above and beyond the call of his nursing duties to accommodate R, his needs and wants. He made my husband and me feel secure in our role of caregiver of a cancer patient and never did he make us feel we were bothering him. He built such a bond with our son, that each time he was inpatient, he wanted John to be his nurse. If for some reason John wasn’t his nurse, R would want to go hang out with John at the nurse’s station just to talk to him.

As a new patient and new parents of a new cancer patient; he took the time to help us through the most difficult time of our treatment protocol. He is absolutely the best nurse we have encountered at St. Jude. There are a lot of great nurses here, but he is by far- THE BEST!
