This nurse took care of me and my baby. It was a difficult pregnancy as I had a PPROM either at or before 20 weeks, and went into labor at 24 weeks. This nurse made a difficult situation much more bearable. Her medical knowledge was wonderful, as well as her ability to assess the situation and communicate her assessment clearly with us. Also, she had a wonderful bedside manner. She was very professional and warm and made my husband and I very comfortable throughout the entire process. She was very intuitive about my needs and really understood what would help ease the process. She worked to help me quickly but still communicated everything in advance and gave me all the time I needed. During such an unimaginably difficult time, at the end of a 6 month complicated pregnancy, I am forever grateful that someone as skilled and dedicated as her was by our side. I wish there was some way to show my gratitude, which is why I hope you will consider her for this award. I know healthcare workers like her are not looking for praise and practice out of genuine care, but a rare person like her must be recognized. As a family who works in medicine and hospital settings, I can confidently say she is one of the best healthcare practitioners I have ever had the honor of meeting.
