Joe is dedicated to his work, dependable and reliable. He is a great team member and performs the tasks assigned to him without hesitation. His exemplary nursing skills are reflected in the care that he gives to his patient; support and compassion to the patient's family as well. His patients are "immaculately clean", that's why nurses love to follow Joe's patient assignment at the end of the shift.
Joe demonstrated our hospital PRIDE values by going out and beyond his call of duty when he assisted a family of one of our critically ill patients.
The patient was at Dr. M's office and was brought to the emergency room. He was subsequently admitted to the regular floor. Joe responded to an RRT when this patient started having a seizure that turned out to be a Code Blue. That patient was intubated and was transferred to ICU. His brother, who was from out of state, was notified. He arrived at the airport and took a cab from the airport to Newton Medical Center. The patient had left his car at Dr. M's office parking lot and the patient's brother wanted to get the car, but there is no Uber available that late at night. Joe gave him a ride at 1:00 in the morning so that he could pick up the car. Being late at night and that Joe was not familiar with the area, he was driving around when the police pulled him over. Joe showed his ID and explained the situation to the cop. The cop later let them go once they found the car and the parking lot was safe for them.
Joe's character didn't surprise me. He is dependable as a coworker and would offer a lending hand to people in need.
