Josh McCoy who works as a relief charge nurse in the Emergency Trauma Center, witnessed a patient assault the law enforcement officer who was escorting him in the facility. Josh realized that the law enforcement officer was forcibly off balance and that the patient was attempting to reach for the officer's weapon. The patient did get his hands on the weapon and Josh, seeing this, intervened and provided immediate assistance to prevent full access to the officer's weapon. During this exchange, the clip from the firearm became dislodged and ultimately the weapon and the patient were secured.
Thanks to Josh's quick actions and concern for the patient and the team, further injury was prevented. Josh is a model nurse that is a Hero in the Emergency Trauma Center.
