As I was rounding in the ER I walked by a room and heard singing. I stopped to listen outside the room for a bit, went over the corner and looked in the window and I found Josh Wolf singing Christmas carols along with a 73-year-old lady suffering from dementia. The lady had been in the ER for 7 hours; we could not find a way to transport the patient back to her home. She sat tearfully and all alone, no family. For 30 minutes or more I witnessed an amazing nurse sit with a little old lady and made her tears disappear. They sang song after song together. At times she couldn't come up with the words, so Josh turned on the computer and pulled up the lyrics on youtube and they kept going on. This lady may not remember what Josh did for her that day, but I know I can speak for myself and the rest of the ER that day, that we were all touched by his warm-hearted compassion. Josh is an amazing nurse who is not afraid of going above and beyond for his patients. He finds the time to make sure their expectations are met, even if they don't know it.
