I would like to nominate Josie for her compassion and huge heart during a specific case we had when taking care of a patient who was going to go home on hospice the next day. They had all of the plans and arrangements made. The patient's wife gave the husband a bath, shaved him, listened to music, and even talked about their hospice plans and had all questions regarding hospice answered because of Josie's background on hospice and her own personal experiences. The wife went to bed because she hadn't slept for a few days. Our patient didn't make it through that night to go home on hospice the next day. The way Josie dealt with the wife was something I will never forget. She did such an amazing job and I only hope to be half the nurse with even half the compassion and passion as her.
