Joyce is an excellent nurse. She took care of my mom 1½ years ago. My mother and I recognized her. All nurses should be like her. We can’t forget Joyce’s service. No doubt, Joyce is one of the best nurses. God bless her.

My husband was transferred to PCU for a second time this afternoon. He was very agitated when he arrived on the floor. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. Yesterday he was able to have lunch and dinner. This morning speech therapy during breakfast took food away. As the day progressed he got very hungry and was starting to feel better with very little coughing. When we arrived on 2D he was beyond nasty to our new nurse, Joyce. She was so calm and patient with him even though he was, and continued to be, rude to her by demanding for her to get him some food. She called speech therapy to see if they would come back and reevaluate him. They were not able to do that. Joyce went above and beyond to locate his doctor. She physically went to find him and got the doctor’s order for pureed food. She also took the time, per my request, to get him a room without a roommate due to how agitated he was. During all this, Joyce continued to be pleasant and understanding. Her wonderful demeanor and kindness calmed my husband down and within the hour he was smiling, eating some Jell-O in a room without a roommate and a lovely view of the courtyard! At this moment he is actually resting comfortably and I cannot sing her praises enough! She is definitely a DAISY Nurse in my opinion! If only there were more people like Joyce, what a wonderful world this would be!
