I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis when I was 12 years old. I've been going to the infusion center at IU North Riley for the last 4 years. Every 8 weeks, I've seen Julie, and she made something that seemed absolutely unbearable at the time into something I looked forward to. She cares so deeply and is involved with my care, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Without Julie and her unwavering positivity and support, I would not be where I am today.
I'm 19 now, and the thought of leaving the infusion clinic and Julie makes my heartache. While there's no lifesaving story or heroic act, Julie has changed my life and deserves all the recognition in the world.
