Julie was my night nurse and during my time in and out of the PICU. She gave me showers and braided my hair the day before surgery. She always asked if there was anything she could do to help me feel better, even if it just meant her helping me with my hair. This meant a lot because when you’re in the hospital for several days you also need help with stuff like this and it was something that most others overlooked. Julie also kept in touch with me, stopped to see me the night I got readmitted even though she was working on the pediatric floor that night, and also came to see me on a day she wasn’t even working. She definitely went out of her way to make us feel loved during our stay. We are from Illinois and had to stay here longer due to an emergency, and she even offered to help with our laundry or anything that we may have needed.
