Julie Mattwig was by far the best nurse we came into contact with while at Piedmont. She always came immediately after called and most of the time, she was there with what we needed before we even needed it. She was the nurse that was with my fiancé from the moment he was out of surgery until almost discharge. She made progressive steps for his healthcare. She tapered him off morphine and made sure he took non-narcotic medicine. She also was diligent about controlling his nausea.
You can tell that Julie truly cares about her patients and loves what she does. She made me feel comfortable staying with him. She is the only one that took the time to get to know us and tell us about her. As you can imagine, it does get very lonely and boring in the hospital bed. She made sure to make a connection with us and to tell us about herself. She truly, really is outstanding. Such a hard worker. We love you, Julie!
