Julie was nominated for a DAISY award by two patients. The first recognized her for providing excellent care and explanation of medications and their side effects.

The second patient recognized Julie for responsiveness and her bedside manner with all of her patients:
"I have never felt the need to recognize a nurse for doing her job until now. As I walked the hallway for part of my recovery I had the privilege to see how she interacted with her other patients as well. Julie greeted everyone with the same masked smile and the same desire to help no matter how difficult the patient may have been. Anyone can tell by talking with Julie for one minute that she loves her job and loves helping people."
