Julie is an extraordinary leader. She handles multiple units which means she has several managers under her. She supports each one of us as much as she can. Julie supports me not just with work but she supports us to have a work-life balance. This for me is very important. Having a leader who supports me motivates me more. Whenever I want to reward my team (for example: lunch) for achieving something or just to show appreciation for their hard work, Julie supports this without second thoughts. She is also visible to us. Julie would also share with us when there are opportunities for learning new things, like seminars, conventions, etc. I really appreciate her sharing these with us which in some instances I was able to share with my team, too. Having a leader who supports her team in multiple aspects makes her a DAISY Nurse Leader.

Julie is a leader who does not ask anyone to do what she would not do herself. She follows through on everything she says she is going to do. She is a strong advocate for nurses, accessible (almost to a fault), and strives to lead others to lead.

Julie is a true champion for patient-centered care. I have had the pleasure of working with many nursing units and leaders. Because of that, I have been able to see how Julie is wholeheartedly dedicated to the health of both her staff and patients within the units. Julie will take the time to help others learn without pause. Julie pushes back to ensure the best for her team, is on the floors doing the work, and truly cares about the people she supports. I have been so lucky to work alongside Julie.
