I was having a terrible spike in pain and was completely anxious about going into the night, but his calming presence and caring personality helped quell my nerves. I truly felt as if I was his only patient by the amount of consistent attention I received. He always took the time to explain things out to me, easing my worries, and was extremely patient, going, what I consider to be, above and beyond a typical nurse's role. His compassion for his work with people showed through when he offered not only physical support but also mental support, specifically when I was panicking about my heparin bruises and getting my morning blood.
Justin also made me feel secure in the knowledge that I was receiving the best care possible as he had great attention to detail and competent communication between me and the overnight doctors. My wait time after pressing the nurse call button was also always very swift, and he never forgot to do a task when I requested multiple things. I was also very comfortable asking for things and he made me feel less embarrassed when I was crying from pain and panic. He honestly just made the whole experience of being in the hospital, especially at night, a pleasant experience and I actually looked forward to seeing him when he was working. I hope that in writing this letter it will shine a light on what an amazing nurse he is, and though it is only a small gesture, show my immense appreciation for his kind and warm-hearted bedside manner. He was my angel in blue scrubs. Thank you so incredibly much.
