I had a group of patients in which one was discharged during our shift but called back to inquire about her meds. Since Justin had taken care of the patient before, he handled it. The patient was discharged on Lovenox but the prescription was $1300 for a one month supply. Justin worked with the physician, social services and the pharmacy on his day off to get this patient her meds to where she could afford it. He called back and forth between physician, social services and pharmacy until he got the patient what she needed.

She almost died from DVT so he probably saved her life by making it possible for her to afford her medicine.

He is a fairly new nurse but he is exactly what nursing is all about. As a nurse of 7 years, I can say he definitely has the right attitude and compassion to make our profession better.
