We have had a patient on 9C for many weeks awaiting placement. He had a stroke and was often frustrated that he was not able to do things independently or communicated like he used to. Kate took it upon herself to put the patient in a wheelchair and took him outside to sit in the sun and get some fresh air. She sat and talked with him while he enjoyed being there. This is such a great demonstration of not only our Core Behaviors but who Kate is as a person and nurse. AGH and 9C are lucky to have her.
