I had surgery to remove colon cancer at the Reading Hospital. During the entire time I was a patient, I was very impressed and grateful for the great care I received from all the nurses who tended to me. One nominee stood out to me from day one. Not only was she very knowledgeable and attentive to my needs, she always made me feel calm during a stressful and worrisome time. When she walked into my room, I always felt a sense of comfort. I did have a specific situation occur where I passed out in the middle of the night in the bathroom. I was very embarrassed and it turned out I was ok, but one thing that stood out to me was how calming and nurturing she was to me during that moment. She stayed with me the whole time and kept me at ease while I was examined and made a stressful, scary situation much more bearable. I am so grateful this nominee was part of my care during my hospital stay. This nominee displays the utmost compassion and it's obvious she is doing what she loves!
