With now having 3 children, I have never experienced such skillful knowledgeable compassionate and loving care as I have with this most recent delivery from my nurse, Karen. My husband, mom, and family members all agreed and said the same thing- she was an angel, a godsend. Being discouraged about an induction and anxious about delivery, after previously delivering two posterior babies with one ending up in the NICU, Karen brightened up the room with her smile, words of encouragement and beautiful spirit. She never seemed hurried, distressed or worried, even during my labor, when I was crying in pain, the baby's heartbeat was in distress and the baby needed to drop down in order to deliver. She was so gifted and empathetic, knowing just the right words to say to encourage me. She took the time and massaged me during painful contractions to ease my tension. I have never had a nurse do that! She didn't have to but obviously cared so much. She was so calm and knowledgeable, explaining everything she was doing with great detail and relevance. Since it was critical that baby dropped, being fully dilated and effaced, she helped move me into several positions to help my son maneuver through my pelvis. I credit her knowledge and skills for having my 3rd be an anterior baby, in perfect position. I couldn't think, dream, or imagine a better nurse than Karen. This hospital, staff, and patients are so blessed for her to be on their team.
