Karina is an absolute asset to MCH. Her dedication to our patients and family is evident in the exceptional care that she provides. The level of compassion that she intertwines in her care is extraordinary. Her strong clinical knowledge, application and critical thinking skills provide an ideal environment for healing. Her ability to provide amazing beside care, remain extremely clinically driven and be so very happy while doing this, is why she is a such a leader on our unit.
Karina provides guidance and support to new nurses, experienced nurses, and works as an integral piece of our interdisciplinary team. The amount of passion and "awesomeness" of what Karina does is somewhat of a challenge to put into words.
A 4-year-old little girl is admitted to MCH. She is extremely fearful and cries as soon as we walk in the room to assess her. The mother shares with Karina that "she is so afraid anytime anyone comes in". At this point Karina sits down and tells the patient... "I am just here for a hug right now". The look in the mother's eyes was sheer relief as she watched this.
Karina is an absolute blessing to this organization and her hard work and dedication are exemplary.
