I would like to thank Karina because number one she is always smiling, even though I was in a lot of pain and crying because I just had surgery. She had to change my bandage on my side and she has to pack it with some kind of strips inside. Oh my God, it hurt so bad, but she would always talk to me in a soft voice and calm me down. Number two, I never had to call for her in my time of need - she was (and is) my Extraordinary Nurse. I would be lying down on the bed and I would see her head peek around the corner with a smile on her face and she would say 'Just checking on you, do you need anything?' I would smile and say no. She's always right on time; if I could have her as my caregiver at home she would be the one I ask for. I can't wait to go home but I'm going to miss Karina a whole lot. She is someone who takes her job here at Riverside University Health System very personal as if she was taking care of a family member. And that's another reason why she's number one in my book. It doesn't matter how you're feeling, she's the one to call on when you're down and out. Even if you have a problem with something else she's there, even if it's for just 5 minutes, she's there for you. She's always smiling and when I go home that's what I'm going to remember about her.
