Other than having a good heart for her patients, Karla has also proven that she is an intelligent, responsible, efficient and a very skilled nurse/charge nurse. Karla has this skill that truly amazes me; she has what I refer to as the "clinical eye" which means that she sees changes in a patient's condition that are not easily noticeable. Karla is very knowledgeable but she is so generous with sharing her skills. She is always willing to help nurses, especially the new hires, no matter how busy she is with her own tasks. Karla is a natural leader, she is always smiling so people find her approachable and easy to work with, even on days when we are very busy, she manages to run the department smoothly. Karla has excellent listening and communication skills, whether she is interacting with the team (nurses, providers, supervisors) or talking with patients or family members, especially during emergency situations.
