I am nominating Karley because of the Integrity she showed toward our patient and the compassionate care she demonstrated toward our patient today. Our patient was suffering from her skin being very raw due to her condition, it was very painful for our patient every time she had to evacuate her stools and it was so sad to see that our patient was so uncomfortable.

Karley went above and beyond to advocate for our patient to have that situation resolved by speaking to her doctor. Our patient was confused and was not able to eat days prior to me taking care of her today, our patient was responsive and told our Nurse she was hungry and wanted to eat. When we see progress in our patients like that and when there is an experienced Nurse like Karley, I just knew she would advocate for a swallow evaluation. It was less than 1 hour after that the speech pathologist came into the room and evaluated our patient, she passed and was so excited. Immediately our patient told me to order her food; she was so hungry and excited to eat.

Karley did not dismiss her and tell her that she was not comfortable eating, she knew from experience our patient was ready to eat. Karley did a great job taking care of our patient today, she also put in a wound care consultation for our patient due to skin issues. This a dedicated Nurse who exemplified Integrity, Compassion, and most of all kindness and a whole lot of Love towards our patient today. I always give credit where credit is due, but when a Human treats another Human with such respect as much as Karley did today, she is an example of an extraordinary Nurse, and it goes to show we have some of the best Nurses in the world here at this amazing organization.
