June 2021 Honoree
Karli Wood-Jones, RN
My mom is an Alzheimer's patient and was admitted for a UTI. While on 3 West, she had several days that she was confused. On one occasion, she was very anxious. Nurse Karli took extra time to make her a comfort object using a glove to make a "stress ball". When we moved to the 4th floor, mom wanted to take this "comfort object" with her. This is a representative of Karli's continuing effort to relieve Mom's anxiety even when Mom was difficult. Karli made a great attemp to contiunously connect with the patient. She displayed the best of the nursing profession and brought credit to herself, the profession, and NMMC.
Thank you, Karli, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
