My eighteen-year-old son came into the PICU with ARDS and was subsequently intubated for eighteen days. Kasey was his night nurse for many of those nights. He embodies everything a nurse should. He was empathetic, compassionate, patient, and always had an extremely positive attitude. He treated my son as if he was his own family.
While my son was intubated, Kasey treated him with respect, dignity, and always talked to him as if he could hear and explained everything he was doing. He also made sure that as a family our needs were always met. We have had many hospitalizations and we have always had amazing nurses, but he is by far the best by a longshot. He is a DAISY Nurse for the excellent job he does and for his outstanding attitude. When my son was transferred to the floor during the day, Kasey made sure to come down and check on him that night. Children's is very fortunate to have such an amazing nurse. He will go very far!
