She even spoon-fed me ice chips when I was too weak to do it myself.
Last year I was admitted to the Labor and Delivery unit at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Giving birth is no easy feat, but giving birth to triplets is even more challenging. Unfortunately, shortly after the birth of our triplets, I developed a few life-threatening complications. Katelynn was proactive in facilitating the appropriate care for my situation. She explained everything, answered all my questions, and offered me reassurance. She remained professional, diligent, and caring. Her compassion, empathy, and attentiveness never wavered. She even spoon-fed me ice chips when I was too weak to do it myself. I was terrified, but I was comforted by the fact that she was genuinely caring for me. She worked tirelessly throughout the night to stabilize my condition. With Katelynn’s help, I was able to make a full recovery. Nurses are trusted with the responsibility of holding a baby when it takes its first breath and a man’s hand when he takes his last; that in itself makes them extraordinary, and I am not just saying that because I am also a Registered Nurse. It takes an amazing individual to surpass this already high expectation, and Katelynn has proven to be nothing short of extraordinary. She’s a hero in my book.
