Recently, Katie was caring for a homeless person who was being discharged from the hospital. There were no means of public transit for them to return to The Salvation Army Shelter and he had no shoes. Katie arranged for her spouse to purchase the patient a pair of shoes and bring them to the Emergency Department. Katie went the extra mile to ensure they had appropriate attire before walking to the shelter. A true act of kindness and compassion.
