Kathleen has a contagious smile that brightens up everyone’s day and her attitude was certainly one that lit my mine whenever I had the pleasure of seeing her.
I came to NW with acute pancreatitis and gastritis. I was vomiting every 30-60 seconds, unable to keep ice chips down, in terrible pain and discomfort. I was admitted for 10 days and I am still struggling with my GI battle. The best part of my stay was a wonderful healer, Charge Nurse Kathleen. Kathleen has a contagious smile that brightens up everyone’s day and her attitude was certainly one that lit my mine whenever I had the pleasure of seeing her. She always anticipated my needs and my wants. I drank quite a bit of juice and water, she always came into the room with plenty without me having to ask for it. If I was unsure about anything I knew I could ask her and she would speak with me.

Most importantly though, Kathleen made my discomfort into pure comfort. I hadn’t slept much if at all for days before I was in Kathleen’s care. I felt comfortable, at ease, and trustful being in her care so much that I could finally sleep sound fully at peace knowing Kathleen was by my side. My mother was an RN for 36 years. I can appreciate everyone working in healthcare, but I can most appreciate a wonderful nurse when I have one. Kathleen is just that, wonderful. Her attitude is simply positive and radiant. I truly believe I am healing because I was in the great care of NW, but most importantly Kathleen.

I could write you about 20 different stories in my short time with Kathleen. She earned the DAISY Award by being a great nurse and person. She also helped me heal and walk out of NW knowing I was taken care of by one of the best nurses and the best hospital I have ever had the privilege of being provided with. Thank you, Kathleen and NW for my gracious care. I hope I can return and reflect this kindness to another person who needs it.
