Kathryn has a very compassionate heart. She leads with quiet compassion and will quickly and diligently seek ways to help her patients whenever they ask or even if they don’t. If she sees a need, she will try to find ways to get the patients what they most need, will research the resource, and will educate them on that resource and ways they can get the most supportive help. For example, she had a family from another country who had challenges that extended beyond the clinical space. She also had another nurse call and found the resources from someone who could relate from a cultural perspective, provided the family with the name and number, and thus allowed them to make the next and final step towards receiving help. She recognizes the boundaries and family dynamics that create a healthier foundation and seeks to create that with each one who crosses her path. She clearly understands sympathy, empathy, and compassion, and uses them and ethical principles to guide her as she serves the patients and families, and as she interacts with her team and co-workers., Kathryn is so well deserving of recognition for all that she does. Kathryn’s kindness and patience with everyone make such a difference in everyone that she touches. She takes time to listen and always puts a positive spin on every circumstance.
