The patient family member noted how each nurse was friendly, professional, and attentive to his family member. When looking at the nurses over the years with the DAISY award we noted that 8 nurses from this area have been nominated over 13 times. And the manager has been nominated at least 3 times. One of my favorite quotes from the Disney movie “Remembering the Titans” is “Attitude reflects leadership,” and for our DAISY Award recipients this is very true! As manager of the Birth Center for the past 16 years, Katie Kufahl has trained nurses to provide the best possible care during a joyful but vulnerable time for new moms and babies.
