We live in Wisconsin and had been traveling back and forth to visit my dad, but unfortunately had to return to work until the next weekend. My dad very quickly took a turn for the worse. I had been trying to call him and was able to talk to his nurse Katie, who regularly updated me and checked on him frequently. When it was obvious he couldn't answer my call she was able to get a video call set up for us to try and wake him and say our goodbyes in case we didn't make it down there in time. She stayed with us on the call until we were set up and then let us have our time with him. We could tell how much she cared and that he had also touched her heart. I am forever grateful to her for that video call, as my dad passed away just a day and a half later, an hour before I was able to get to him. Without that call, I feel like I would have so much left unsaid with my dad. If she sees this, I hope she understands my appreciation for her. Thank you.
