I was so happy that someone with not only the experience she brings but the wonderful bedside manner was here to assist.
I was here initially after being diagnosed with stage IV MBC, subsequently, I had to have a thoracentesis into the pleural effusion on five occasions. Keat was with me each time and went over and above to make sure that not only was I comfortable with the procedure but she took the time to explain everything in laymen's terms so I knew exactly what to expect. This in itself eased my anxiety tremendously.
Fast forward almost 3 years later to the day and through several scans, including a CT scan it was discovered that the nodules in my liver have doubled and in addition, I have developed cirrhosis in my liver from the cancer/chemo. Now I need to have paracentesis on a regular basis because the fluid build-up is literally unbearable. Much to my surprise when I came last Friday, Keat was here to assist in the procedure. I was so happy that someone with not only the experience she brings but the wonderful bedside manner was here to assist. Obviously, I was not only anxious but apprehensive as well since it was my first time for this particular procedure. I can honestly say that once I saw her all my fears were calmed. It is truly people like her that make it easy for the patients to return and know they are in great hands.
