Kelly received the DAISY Award after being nominated by six of her co-workers.
One co-worker wrote: During my RN orientation I worked with Kelly. She was an outstanding teacher and showed amazing customer/patient care. I helped her take care of a critically ill patient that was placed on several IV drips, had a central line inserted, and was placed on a ventilator. Kelly took excellent care of this patient and their family, while taking the time to teach me. She always goes over and beyond.
Another co-worker wrote: Kelly has the best attitude towards staff and patients, she is always on-time, pleasant and makes me want to be a better nurse. She is willing to help new employees. She is one of the kindest people I know and makes the busy days better. She never complains, works harder than anyone, and is always willing to help anyone. She takes the best care of patients at their worse time.
A day shift co-worker wrote: Arriving in the ER every morning to begin our shift we are always greeted with the brightest and most welcoming smile. No matter what the situation or how much chaos is happening, Kelly always remains the "calm in the storm". She calms parents when their children are critically ill and she defuses serious situations quickly with her calming personality. Kelly is definitely a blessing to the ER. We are so lucky to have her.
Another co-worker wrote: Kelly is the most compassionate and hardest working employee I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her kindness and gentle spirit makes her a joy to work with. She continues to go above and beyond in order to take excellent care of her patients. She is always a motivator to me and to all of her coworkers, by leading by example. She makes all those around her better employees and always has a huge smile on her face while doing so.
