Kelsey made me feel comfortable during a very frustrating and scary time.
While being inpatient on the 6th floor in the North Tower, Kelsey was my day nurse. On this particular day, I was having high pain and had very little sleep the night before. After getting a report from my night nurse, Kelsey came in to check on my pain level and see if I could receive any pain medications. According to my file and after a quick chat with the hospital doctor, she realized that the medication I was currently on for pain was not working. Throughout the next several hours, she continually tried different medications with me, going back to the hospital doctor many times, being a go-between for me and the hospital doctor, trying to find some medicine that would help the pain I was experiencing.

She went above and beyond when trying to get answers to my questions and trying to get me the medication that would help me. While doing this, she also kept me and my husband informed on when I would have a CTA and Stress test done, made sure I understood the medications I was taking, and tried to help explain the test results that were coming in.

Kelsey was so good at communicating with me when the doctor wouldn't answer my questions. During her shift, Kelsey continually fought for proper medications and information for me and made sure I knew all the medications I was taking, and the tests that were being run, and made me feel comfortable during a very frustrating and scary time. She made sure my husband had his questions answered, explained things to me when I didn't understand what was going on and did so patiently and with compassion. This hospital stay has been really confusing and disheartening, but I am extremely lucky to have Kelsey in my corner, fighting for me.
