We arrived on the 7th floor after being in the ICU. Immediately, we were greeted, and Kennedy introduced herself. Her beautiful smile and calm demeanor were so refreshing. For the next 4 days - 12-hour shifts, Kennedy took care of my husband. She explained every procedure to my husband when calmly interacting with him. We had many questions as a family. She took each question and asked the appropriate individuals. You may ask why all this is special. She was doing her job… No, she made my husband feel safe. She took time to acknowledge my (his Wife) and our children’s concerns and alleviate our fears and worries. She learned all of our names, greeted us, and gave us the most beautiful smile EVERY time she entered the room. She felt like a part of our family, and after 4 – 12-hour days with her, we were heartbroken to see her go. But guess what? 4 days after she came back to work on a different circle, she found us, greeted us, and quickly came in to say goodbye to my husband. You see, my hubby passed away that day. She made the last day of my sweet hubby’s life beautiful, and we will never forget that. Sincerely, we thank her for her priceless loving heart towards us.
