Kerri stayed with a critical patient during the beginning of a bedside procedure just to be an additional resource without being asked.
Words cannot describe how much of an asset Kerri is to the hospital as a whole. She is always willing to help beyond the role of VAT team. Her bedside manner is remarkable and something we strive for! She explains things before they're done, in turn making every patient feel at ease. She takes advantage of educational opportunities with staff to explain how the ultrasound works, central line care, and line troubleshooting. She always has a contagious smile on her face! She has been especially essential during covid, to assist staff with clustering care when other specialties were hesitant to go into the room. She would take in food trays, restart IV fluids/meds just because she was already there or going in. She even left her cell phone number with us one day for help with a difficult patient for troubleshooting a line if needed. She stayed with a critical patient during the beginning of a bedside procedure just to be an additional resource without being asked. When asked about central line care tips and audit information for an upcoming skills day, she quickly responded that she would love to be there and assist in person! She is always willing to lend a hand without being asked and gladly steps in to help with patients she may not have on her list to see. "No" is not a word in her vocabulary! She is well respected, a great resource, and an incredible nurse!

Note: This is Kerriā€™s 2nd DAISY Award!
