We had Kerry as our day nurse for two days after giving birth to our little boy J. She was exceptional. She carefully answered all questions we had with compassion and without any judgment. She made the entire postpartum experience smooth and enjoyable. Kerry was attentive to our and our baby’s needs. She helped me use the bathroom and set up the postpartum pads for me while making jokes about how the witch hazel pads are like salami on a sandwich, which I’ll never forget. I was having a lot of nausea and vomiting during my stay and she comforted me and validated how I was feeling. Every time she came into our room she used it as an opportunity to also educate us on the baby, breastfeeding, and postpartum care, and also used up-to-date references and studies in her explanations. She used relative references and made the information digestible. She included my husband in every step of the process as well and encouraged baby bonding by teaching him how to change diapers and swaddle. She felt more than a nurse, she felt like she was a friend and a mother teaching us as well. My husband and I feel truly blessed to have been in her care after having our first baby. We couldn’t have a better nurse to be there for us and she will forever be a part of our family memories. Thank you, Kerry!!!
