I was a patient on the High-Risk Women's unit for a week, with Kiley as my nurse several times. I felt extremely alone in my situation and wanted so badly to talk with someone who shared the same experience as me. The day that I was told I would have to be induced and ultimately lose my baby, Kiley shared a very raw and private experience that she had just gone through in the month prior. She put her personal emotions aside and opened her arms and heart to really let me know that I was not alone.

She embodies the word 'selfless.' When you go through the loss of a child, most people don't have words. Kiley broke down her own walls to let me confide in her during the darkest days of my life. Every time she was my nurse, she took empathy to the extremes. Not only checking on my physical health but my emotional health as well. I feel like I've found a friend in Kiley and have reflected quite a bit on her story during my healing journey. She should absolutely be recognized for her compassion, dedication, and resilience as a nurse.
